First, thank you. I have been truly surprised and deeply grateful for the immediate response to this petition. The number of parents, caregivers, and community members who have reached out to share their own stories has been overwhelming in the most meaningful way. While it breaks my heart to hear how many families have experienced similar situations, it also reminds me why this matters so much. We are not alone — and our voices together are powerful.
We have important next steps ahead.
There will be a press conference at the Minnesota State Capitol on March 3rd to discuss HF1915, legislation that would require cameras in daycare centers across Minnesota. The bill will be known as “Harvey’s Law,” in honor of a little boy whose life was tragically taken at a daycare.
I will also be testifying in support of this bill on March 10th. I’m doing this not just as an advocate, but as a mom who believes our children deserve safer, more transparent environments when they are in someone else’s care.
If you live in Minnesota, please consider contacting your district’s representative and asking them to support HF1915. Lawmakers need to hear directly from parents and constituents that transparency and accountability in daycare settings matter. If you’ve lived this, work in childcare or law enforcement, or simply believe we can do better for our children, please consider submitting testimony.
Thank you for standing with us, for sharing this petition, and for caring about the safety of our children.
