We knew there would be many first after Kari's death but today we were dealt a strong feeling of loss. She always made the pumpkin pie, something she enjoyed doing and was always proud of the results. Her laughter was gone, her hugs were gone, here stories were gone and most noticeable, to me anyway, were the words, " Bye Daddy, I love you". The day was filled with laughter, hugs and good food though. We're trying.
