Hi Everyone,
Hope this finds you well.
I received a phone call 2 days ago from The council (the handling reports team) regarding to the noise report I made before.
The officer advised that he will close my complaint down and linked to an Active complaint about the Nuffield Park noise as there are several people complaining about this issue, not just 1 person, he advised the Ref number is 3418 680 and they are sending rangers out to verify. So I can assume that the council is aware of the issue.
Over the phone, the officer also advised based on their records, the last time when they sent a ranger out we’re from 9/12 from 8:45 to 9pm and got a photo of no one playing which is doesn’t help us, I explained to the officer because the players come and play unexpectedly, randomly, unless the ranger go every night till midnight, it’s not gonna be an accurate information and not the whole picture.
I asked for a solution but the officer was not providing any apart from the Ref number as it’s not in their hands (complaint Handling Team). I also asked the Officer to take it into account and also let the city directors know about this.
I also received another call from to the Rangers Unit officer on Friday afternoon (12/12/25) and he’s aware of the situation, however from the ranger’s point of view, what they can do is only do more patrols for the park but it can be tricky as they can’t do every day due to their capacity and also only for some times like 15 mins where the players come play very randomly and at different times with different groups , mostly they are Chinese international students come and go to the area. The Rangers confirmed they are doing patrolling every night from Thu-Sun but again only for short time and I understand there are still lots of inconsiderate people out there just decided to bring the noise mid night.
The Rangers officer also confirmed that they witnessed people playing there making loud noise over designated hours and what they can do in their capacity is patrolling which is not a permanent solution to stop this noise issue but it’s up to the city council directors. The Rangers also encouraged people to speak up and make reports/ complaints to council if it’s happened again as it can help for a better and permanent solution.
Same situation with police if we call them when things like this happen, I feel sorry calling them as they come, but then it’s back to square one the next day.
It’s looking like what the petition calls for is reaching the council, still no permanent solution provided but I believe they can have proper action done in their power and stop this noise issue for good.
We need more people to speak up and sign the petition to bring this issue up for a discussion at the council table and support us for what a petition is calling for.
It’s been YEARS and this issue needs to be escalated to the right people and the right department.
Will keep you all updated for more information if we have.
