May 9, 2016
This Wednesday Mural supporters, many of whom are local elected officials, will meet at the Prado Dam Bicentennial Mural to discuss the Mural's eligibility for the National Register of Historic Places.
We all look forward to sharing goals with the Army Corps of Engineers that allow for the Bicentennial mural to be preserved for present and future generations. This is a slow process and the mural is still in danger.
It's been nearly forty years (June 17th 1976) since the mural was completed by Corona High students for the 200th birthday of our Country. We are thankful to the Mural Conservancy of LA and Attorney Eric Bjorgum, along with the outpouring of support from the public and their elected officials, from Chino, Chino Hills, Eastvale, Norco and Corona. This is a testimony to the significance of the Bicentennial Mural in our Country's history.
