Firstly, thank you for the overwhelming support in signing this petition.  Getting to one hundred signatures was incredible, but 240+ in 36 hours is slightly surreal.  Please keep sharing and encourage those people who care about our wonderful village to add their clout to this petition.  The more signatures we can get, the louder the shout is to “Open Polzeath’s Path Immediately”.  Facebook is a powerful tool in local communities, so please do post there online, forward to friends on WhatsApp, and talk to people who you think will be interested. Thank you. 

Secondly, we are looking for people who have used this path for twenty years or more to fill in a form (not too onerous) detailing your use of the path during this time.  It will require your signature, plus a statement that you walked it without force, secrecy or express permission.  You don’t necessarily have to have lived in Polzeath but you will have used it continually.  Please get in touch with me and I can send you the information, plus a stamped addressed envelope.

Thirdly, please contact Mod Box Developments directly to ask them what their intentions are for the path.   Maybe by letting them know how you have walked this path in the past and just how much you care about Polzeath and its people, they will realise how important this path is to so many people…..and if they mention Health & Safety concerns, remember the offer has been made to contribute to the costs of fencing and insurance!!

Fourthly, a group of us will be going to the St Minver Highlands Parish Council meeting in May to formally update the councillors about this situation.  Please do let me know if you would like to come and I can send you the details. We have a slot to speak and there will be a group of us going. If transport is a problem, do let me know and I’m sure lifts can be arranged.
