Petition Update: Another Step Forward!

We are pleased to share that the proposal to rename the Hailey Rodeo Arena in honor of Ted Uhrig continues to move forward with strong support!

The Hailey City Council and Mayor unanimously approved the renaming on April 27, 2026. At its May 26, 2026 meeting, the Parks and Lands Board requested proof of community support and approval from the Arts and Historic Preservation Commission before moving forward. The Arts and Historic Preservation Commission subsequently approved the proposal unanimously on June 10, 2026. Following the Commission's approval and the continued outpouring of community support, the Parks and Lands Board approved the renaming at its June 16, 2026 meeting by a 3-2 vote, with Penny Thayer and Dave Fluetsch casting the two opposing votes.

These approvals are a testament to Ted's decades of dedication, leadership, and service to the Sawtooth Rangers, the Days of the Old West Rodeo, and the Hailey community.
