Salutations, my blessed supporters. We are one week into this petition which I emailed to everyone working in Thornton city council the very day I created it, and I finally got my first response from Ward 1 Councilman Justin Martinez. As you can see in the email, Councilman Martinez is skeptical of these red light cameras which are currently working on a trial basis.
Let's hope it stays at just that: a trial. There are much better uses for our taxpayer dollars that come from our hard-earned paychecks than wasting it on government surveillance. I made sure to let Councilman Martinez know that when I responded to his email.
Hopefully, we can turn his skepticism into support so we can get momentum going by having our first city council member on our side.
