Jordan Mann has finally been removed as principal from RCSHS following protests of his repulsive actions. However, he has been "reassigned" to another position within Rowan County Schools. This means that he will remain working within our community. Possibilities could include anything from a desk job at the board office, to, eventually, principal of another school within our area. While RCSHS has been relieved of this man's presence, his reputation of ignorance and misconduct could possibly continue for others. While we must keep a closer eye on our school administrators, it is unlikely that the school can further pursue the firing of Mann due to US law. He has been in office long enough to receive academic tenure, which is meant to provide leniency for school employees, typically requiring a formal procedure to let them go. This is likely the process which they have been going through recently, with new messages and information being publicized. If better communication was established, this entire situation could've been easier for everyone. This lack of transparency has only heightened the concerns and frustrations within the community over the past 2 years, which is incredibly problematic in the case of the public education system, which is built entirely around the safety and well-being of CHILDREN. We cannot allow this inappropriate behavior and sexual wrongdoing to continue. That is why, as of now, this account will focus on the safety and communication of students, parents, teachers, and associates of Rowan County Schools.
Additionally, more petitions will be shared in the future if the community calls for it.
