For those who have not seen the update on Instagram, an update from this past Friday, May 8th:

Jackie Coleman has been placed on Administrative Leave.

 

Email from Board Chair, Eric Leshinsky to Staff on 5/8/26 @ 7:43pm:

 

"Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts remains committed to fostering a workplace and community environment that is respectful, welcoming, and supportive for all. In recent weeks, the Board of Directors has become aware of concerns raised by current and former employees regarding workplace culture, leadership practices, communication, and staff experiences within the organization.  

In response, the Board has initiated an independent third-party review to better understand the concerns that have been raised and to thoughtfully assess the organization’s internal workplace environment and leadership practices. The Board believes this process is an important step in ensuring Maryland Hall continues to move forward in a way that supports its staff, artists, patrons, and broader community.  

During the anticipated 4–6 week review process, Executive Director Jackie Coleman has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the independent review. This decision was made to support the integrity of the review process and allow for a thorough and impartial assessment.

Maryland Hall remains fully operational throughout this process. All performances, classes, exhibitions, camps, and public programs will continue as scheduled, and the organization remains focused on serving the community through the arts.  

The Board of Directors remains committed to guiding Maryland Hall through this process with care, transparency, and thoughtful leadership while ensuring the organization continues to serve its community through the arts.
