Thanks to Canadian MP Dan Mazier, our petition was presented to the House of Commons on December 11th, 2025. Health Canada has 45 days to respond.
I feel confident in this petition, simply because it highlights the governments own precautionary principle, a mechanism by which Canadians who are especially vulnerable should be protected when there's a lack of scientific certainty.
That being said, in 1975 at the House of Commons, MP Paul Yewchuk (and Doctor) attempted to have these additives reviewed, and a while a committee was formed, nothing came of it and they remain in food and medicine to this day. I've reached out to Mr. Yewchuk who is now retired, and who committed to writing a letter to the federal government on this topic.
On another note, I'm waiting on some information about tartrazine (yellow) and the risk assessments Health Canada has performed on the additive over the last two decades.
Looking forward to giving you all an update on both of those topics in the near future. Thanks again for your support!
