What makes our petition different than the regular rent freezes or similar petitions, is we are calling on the federal government to also provide mortgage assistance.

The state and local elected officials as they are either slow-moving or ignorant to the fact that many of you are choosing between rent/mortgage and survival.

We need leadership from the federal government through Congress and/or President Trump signing an immediate executive order. If we wait on banks and local officials to step up, what is going to happen?

All with an effective date of April 1, 2020 for three-months (90 days).

  1. We are asking for retroactive relief for all renters (residential and commercial). NOT A REPAYMENT LOAN, or forbearance, actual relief.
  2. We are asking that all mortgage payments on all commercial and residential property be forgiven for 90 days, with an effective date of April 1, 2020, as a means to immediate relief without causing irreparable harm to both the landlord and the tenant. NOT A REPAYMENT LOAN, or forbearance, actual relief.
  3. We want the AUTOMATIC relief to be paid directly to the loan services companies, without any action required by the landlord and homeowner. Let the loan servicing companies and private lenders collect the funds by filing the forms with the government.
  4. Landlords and lenders need clear guidance from the federal government. We want banks and lenders to be reimbursed for the 90 days of relief on all mortgages.
  5. Any payments already made will be credited as an additional payment.
  6. Create a relief fund for landlords and lenders to cover the lost rental income and mortgage payments they would have received.

We have a real opportunity to make change, please keep sharing and signing as we could not be here without you!
