Claims citizens against this rezoning are "Bullies", "won't talk" , "only one way", etc. causing him sleepless nights....Now for the facts:

All this was 'undercover' for months, with suppression of information, answering questions etc.  Now, one can't even keep up with how many 'plans' have been put forth, NONE of which are COMPLETE, yet Planning Unanimously approved prior versions (even less complete) with Council appearing to go along? No TIA or completed plan EVEN NOW.

Bullies: Now thats rich.  Any meeting to date, the only 'bullies' has been from the planners or council.  UCPS rep at the last meeting, planners at a prior planning meeting, etc. Citizens of Weddington who wish to keep the status quo (Land Use Plan & Current Zoning) are "Bullies"..Deflection at its finest.

Citizens"Won't Talk" ?!  I can provide dozens of citizens I know for a fact have emailed, called, voiced concerns, etc, not to mention the TURNOUT and SPEAKERS. I went to the original "Coffee" that started this and Mayor Horn was Mr Switzerland on this project (& Overall issue of changing to conditional zoning). "Talking" involves listening, feedback and god forbid, stating one's opinion.

For decades (including current council), many have run on keeping Weddington under current R-40 (no HD) zoning.  This goes back to even when Nancy Anderson Trounced Howie over similar shenanigans.  Land Use Plan is being ignored, contrary even to the 2050 UC Plan (with ALOT of citizen input).  Speaking of UC...If their policy of pump station approvals (from just the PW Manager to Commissioners is changed) possibly Game over.

If Mayor Horn actually BELIEVES all the backlash isn't representative of most Weddington Residents (not believing THIS PETITION and TURNOUT), PUT IT TO A REFERENDUM!!  (Another request made by many..and ignored)  Perhaps that reasonable suggestion is just more "bullying"
