It’s being almost a week since we were given the news that three areas within the Bayview SS boundary will be moved to holding schools at Alexander Mackenzie SS and Langstaff SS.  Discussion is on the way with the school trustee to setup a meeting with YRDSB on their proposal for changing the boundary.  The meeting date, time, and location will be published when they have being finalized.   We urge all who are affected to show up at the meeting to make your views heard or to show your support on maintaining the previous boundary.  Please make your neighbours aware as they may not know about the change.  

We would like the school board to explain to us about the proposal changes and how they came to the conclusion in a transparent manner with statistics and provide alternative solutions before considering to make any changes.  Arbitrary moving communities to under utilized secondary schools that are far away is not the solution.  Any changes should be fair to all Wards. Previous school boundary included Ward 2,3,5,6 and with the change, only Ward 2,3 are now included.    

Reversal of boundary change is not without precedent.  TVDSB (London,ON) postponed a boundary change this summer after receiving hundreds of complaints about the proposal.  This is why it is so important to make your voice heard!
