Fulton County Animals Need your Help!

Hi neighbors! As some of you know, the conditions at the Fulton County Animal Shelter are abysmal.

The good news is that the Fulton County government is considering a new shelter. They recently funded a feasibility study which is now underway.

The bad news is that a new shelter has NOT been funded. The Fulton County commissioners are voting on a budget for a new facility in October and they've asked to hear from their constituency.

If you are a resident of Fulton County, can you take 5 minutes of your day and send the below to your commissioners? We have the emails, subject and copy ready to go. All you have to do is copy + paste + send. Your 5 minutes would make a HUGE difference in the lives of our animals!

My name is _______________. I am reaching out to you today as your constituent in regards to the Fulton County Animal Shelter. As you know, our county is A BIG DEAL! Yet…

- We have 400 dogs crowding an outdated facility that was meant for 80 animals
- We’re putting county employees’, volunteers’, and the public’s health and safety at risk
- We have a shelter with costs that yield no benefits. These would disappear with a new, well-functioning facility.
- We need to take our place with other progressive counties and cities in the country. Austin, Dallas and many others are further along the path of utilizing best practices of animal welfare. From them, we know what works.
- The time is now to live up to our identity as a progressive, compassionate county that residents are proud of and where others want to be.

As a registered voter, I ask you to vote YES for the comprehensive design. We need a facility with the vet services, behavior services, plenty of kennel space, and the ability to provide community outreach programs. Let our shelter match our reputation as a progressive leader!
