On the 14th of March, governments, councils and social landlords from across the UK will be in the south of France at  the largest global property fair, MIPIM,  hobnobbing with tycoon property developers, consultants, builders and architects.  They will be looking for and showcasing 'Investment and New Development Opportunities and to promote their borough.'  The agenda has lots about climate change and affordable housing, but according to ‘London at MIPIM’ their aim is to promote the "investment potential the city is able to offer global capital"  This means more demolition and building of unaffordable homes.

The planet & communities have had enough.

The event is part of the build-up to the Extinction Rebellion ‘Big One’ a four day rolling protest in central London in April.

Campaigners in the group Housing Rebellion hope to make a few unannounced ‘site visits’ to some of the worst climate culprits in the property industry to say ‘Refurbish Don’t Demolish’; ‘Create low-energy, low-cost, warm, dry homes for all’; ‘Provide housing for people and planet not profit’.

Join us to campaign against demolition and gentrification.  There is a need for a system-wide challenge to the way society is organised, depriving people of decent homes and a livable planet.  Insulate Britain, Yes to Fair Redevelopment, the Campaign Against Empty Homes are campaigns fighting for this.
