Happy New Year!

Thank you for your support throughout the year 2021.

As 2022's dawn unfolds, the Central Hill Estate is facing concerted surveying and at some point a ballot to show that we are convinced that rebuilding is the best way forward.

Last year saw the drawing up of three architects to take on the mantle of rebuilding the estate: Hawkins Brown, BPTW and PRP.  Only a few residents went to look at their ideas that are shaped by HfL's 'demolition only' policy.  There are other players, though, involving Savills and Mayoral funding.

Savills helped Lambeth Council to set up Homes for Lambeth and have been instrumental in the destruction of Truslove House and its nature, including nine trees.  They have now 'won' a £4 - 7m contract to last 3 - 5 years assessing Lambeth Council's housing stock.

Once again the Housing Revenue Account is being used to [as one Twitter user put] 'Pay Savills to drive regeneration in the borough. Stock audit will identify estates that can be demolished on the premise of the stock being too run-down to salvage. Pesky working class families will be decanted, new homes built, & nice upper-middle class people - people like our councillors - will move in.

We ask you to join us in our 'Protest while u can' to ask Savills to Stop Your Ills and to Stop Wrecking Social Housing!

When: Sat. 15th, 1.30 - 2pm start.

Savills Headquarters, 33 Margaret St, London, W1G 0JD.
