Help Us to Get Central Hill Estate Listed by Historic England
Refurbish Don't Demolish!
Dear Supporter,
Amazing news! We have the possibility of getting Central Hill Estate listed by Historic England, but we need your help.
The estate was built by forward- thinking planners and architects, who wanted to create attractive places for people to live, and which created a sense of community. They looked at mistakes made by architects in the past, as well as being influenced by other housing estates in the UK and elsewhere, and designed living spaces which worked well for residents.
Central Hill was designed by Rosemary Stjernstedt and Ted Hollamby, who wanted to put people at the heart of their plans, and to build homes surrounded by green spaces.
People love this estate. Generations have grown up here and some people have lived here their whole lives. Central Hill needs refurbishing and it needs to be protected.
We think our estate is an important piece of history. Being listed could help to keep it better protected in future. Here is how you could help.
