Well not quite! But I was wondering why so many people started signing this afternoon! It turns out Legal Cheek have picked up on our little old petition! 

So if you’re new here, welcome! Here’s a few facts about the SQE: 

1.  If you want to appeal to final stage, it costs £1,200 
2. You’re less likely to pass the SQE if you’ve undertaken qualifying work experience than if you’ve never set foot into a firm
3. If you’re black / black English, you’re 32% less likely to pass than white candidates 
4. The SRA refuses to consider appeals on an academic basis 
5. No water is allowed in the SQE1 exam (candidates in the test centre for almost 6 hours with an hour break in the middle)
6. 175 candidates were incorrectly told they had failed in 2024

And that’s not even scratching the surface. We’re not simply moaning that it’s difficult. 

For the sake of being transparent I’d like to flag, this petition is posted under an alias, and legal cheek aren’t quite right that I’m a future trainee, I’m currently undertaking a training contract.
