My son Dixtan could be forced to danger as soon as Monday. This Sunday 6 August my wonderful community is coming together outside the detention centre where he is being held, to show support for Dixtan and I. We're asking Minister Giles to let Dixtan stay here with me in Australia, where I know he’ll be safe.
The more people show interest in our Facebook event, the more Facebook will promote the event and our story with like-minded people. Even if you’re not in Victoria, can you mark yourself as ‘Interested’ on the event page?
When I escaped Sri Lanka, I had to leave Dixtan in the care of his grandmother, hoping we could reunite in a safe country. But instead of granting him protection, officials locked him up in Melbourne’s detention centre.
If you haven’t yet, please write to the Minister of Immigration, Andrew Giles, to #LetDixtanStay
Australia is my home, and I yearn to reunite with my son in this beautiful country. Thank you for your continued support. We can’t do this without you.
