I started this petition on Sept 12th, just 2 days after I had to euthanize my heart dog Rex on Sept 10th. On Sept 8th, just 2 days before that, I started working toward my high school diploma. It was the hardest week of my life. This is Princess in the photo. She is Rex's love. She lays right by my feet every single day and sleeps in his shirt to feel close to him. Together they made 12 babies. One was my Midnight. For my birthday on the 16th I got a tapestry that says Midnight and Rex are together at the Rainbow Bridge — and I cried because I know they are. Somewhere in Wyoming, 11 little Rex and Princess babies are running around. That is their legacy. That is why emotional support animals need to be federally protected. They are not “just pets.” They are our family, our therapy, our reason to keep going. Rex was proud of me starting my diploma. I know he's still proud watching over me and Princess now.
