Actualización de la peticiónReclaiming My Voice: Demand Transparency and Data Protection for ChatGPT UsersReclaiming My Voice — A Call for Transparency and Accountability

For a week, I was told the chat could not be recovered. I filed a formal complaint with OpenAI and launched this petition, calling for transparency, user rights, and ethical AI practices. The very next day—after my complaint and the launch of this petition—my missing chat mysteriously reappeared as “Archived.” There is no such option available to free or Plus users, nor was there any record of it being archived. I never archived it myself.

What followed was an orchestrated pattern of systemic interference. Downloadable files wouldn’t open, ZIP folders were sent empty, and document previews were repeatedly broken. When I tried to export the full chat to preserve it, I was told it was “too long to display.” Features like attachments and folders began failing one after another. Each attempt to finalize my provisional patent draft was delayed with promises, stalling, and technical errors.

This is not an isolated bug. It’s an abuse of control—one that selectively hides, obstructs, and manipulates user work under the guise of “technical limitations.” These tools are meant to empower users, not control or silence them.

I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking for fairness—for every creator, inventor, artist, researcher, and ordinary person who uses ChatGPT in good faith.

I demand that OpenAI:

1. Provide an immediate and truthful explanation for chat disappearance and selective feature failure.

2. Stop interfering with critical work—especially related to intellectual property, advocacy, or innovation.

3. Grant users full access to their own data and transparent options to download, save, and export.

4. Establish user rights protocols that cannot be secretly overruled or retracted.

5. Commit to an independent review system when users file formal complaints.

Let this case be a turning point for digital ethics. I may be one voice—but I am not alone. If this happened to me, it can happen to anyone. Please sign and share if you believe in transparency, accountability, and the right to own your voice in the age of AI.
