Over 500 people have now signed the petition to tell Kingston Council that we do not want them to demolish The Kingfisher Leisure Centre in Kingston Town Centre

Nearly 250 people have signed the petition in just six hours

In the "Transform Kingston" so-called consultation, the council stated "You said, We did". They say that 2,500 people responded to their survey on a new leisure centre. 

So we need to ensure that more than 2,500 residents tell Kingston Council that we do not support their plans to demolish The Kingfisher Leisure Centre

I believe that the majority of people in Kingston have no idea that the council does not intend to re-open the Kingfisher

After all, the planning application to demolish The Kingfisher was not publicised and the Planning Committee approved it on 1 September 2021, the first possible day for the Council to reconvene after the August break and less than two days after the Bank Holiday, avoiding mass protest before the decision was made 

It's now vitally important that enough people tell the council that we do not agree with the proposed demolition, a demolition about which the council never asked our opinion

If we can each get 5 people to sign the petition, we can show that more than 2500 people do not believe The Kingfisher Leisure Centre should be demolished
