The Ethical Legislation Initiative is pleased to inform our supporters that Senate Bill 1498, which would effectively bar all Congress members from trading stocks, has passed a committee with Democrats and Republicans alike agreeing there is a conflict of interest. Senator Josh Hawley who introduced the bill has come to bipartisan agreement with many other Democrats such as Senator Bernie Moreno, such as renaming the bill to be less politically charged.
