Prutehi Litekyan: Save Ritidian Statement of Support and Solidarity with the Defenders of Mauna Kea:
We, the Guam-based group Prutehi Litekyan: Save Ritidian, are a direct action group dedicated to the protection of natural and cultural resources in sites identified for the Department of Defense expansion and live-fire firing training in Guåhan and the Northern Marianas Islands.
We align our efforts with other regional movements working to prevent environmental degradation and destruction of sacred and native lands. Our work supports all efforts for the return of ancestral lands to native communities.
Prutehi Litekyan: Save Ritidian opposes the ongoing occupation of stolen native land and the continued disregard of the will of the Kanaka Maoli people fighting to protect and defend their sacred ʻāina. We stand in solidarity with them, the Protect Mauna Kea movement, the collective Oceania Rising, and all defenders of Mauna Kea who share in their responsibility and commitment to stop this desecration and violence against the sacred lands and people of Hawai’i.
Prutehi Litekyan: Save Ritidian opposes the occupation of sacred lands by the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa.
Prutehi Litekyan: Save Ritidian vehemently opposes the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT), which is a clear injustice and a violation of the inherent rights of the Kanaka Maoli people. This desecration must be stopped and the University of Hawai’i must refrain from continued acts of aggression and oppression of the land and people of Hawai’i. The University of Hawaiʻi must end its role in the destruction of sacred homeland.
The people of the Pacific should no longer be deprived of living in peace in our homelands.
Prutehi Mauna Kea!
