Update petisiProtecting Pets on Nextdoor: A Call for Stronger Safeguards, Oversight, and Accountability

Who Is Reviewing the Reviewers? Nextdoor Accountability Concerns

I've just made significant updates to this petition following additional troubling incidents involving animal welfare, questionable puppy sales, and Nextdoor's own Review Team.

New screenshots document a Review Team member privately discussing a $2,000 puppy sale, dismissing legitimate animal welfare concerns, and subsequently listing the puppies in Nextdoor's marketplace.

These developments reinforce concerns I've repeatedly raised with Nextdoor Support about inconsistent moderation, reviewer selection, training, oversight, and accountability.

I've expanded the petition to address these issues directly, including nine specific reforms we're asking Nextdoor's leadership to implement.

I encourage everyone who has signed to revisit the petition, read the new information, and share it with others.

To our 389 supporters: THANK YOU. Your signatures matter, and we're building a stronger collective voice for meaningful change.

This is about more than one incident, one reviewer, or one platform policy.

It's about protecting animals, strengthening community safeguards, and ensuring accountability when the systems intended to protect them fall short.

Please keep sharing. Let's make sure Nextdoor's founders and leadership hear us.

Our pets deserve better. And so do our communities.
