The "Stop the Chop" community forum is coming up at 11am TOMORROW, Sunday 21 September at the North Adelaide Community Centre hall.
Billed as "the consultation that the State Government doesn't want you to have" confirmed speakers for tomorrow's event are:
- Peter Dalkeith Smith, international golf course designer;
- Sarah Russo, Adelaide Park Lands Association President
- Tim Agius, Kaurna Elder
- Kathryn Hill, Ecologist
- Dr Kate Wylie, Doctors for the Environment.
The Member for Adelaide, Lucy Hood, and the Minister for Planning, Nick Champion, have both declined invitations to speak.
Bookings for this event had exceeded our expectations, leading us to advertise the event for the past three weeks as 'booked out'. However late cancellations today have allowed us to offer tickets to those on a Humanitix "wait list" and (after making those offers) there are now a handful of tickets that are newly available. Therefore, if you know someone who would like to attend, please advise them to book now, without delay.

Assuming that everybody who's booked does turns up, the North Adelaide Community Centre Hall will be filled (or almost filled) to capacity, which is sure to attract media and Government attention.
If you know anyone who's interested, who cannot attend, please let them know that the "Stop the Chop" Community Forum will be livestreamed on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/AdelaideParkLandsAssn/
Sadly, anyone who turns up on the day without booking, will not be able to enter the Hall, but volunteers at the North Adelaide Community Centre will be on hand, to assist anyone to access the Facebook live-stream.
Kind regards
Shane Sody (on behalf of the Adelaide Park Lands Association's "Possum Park Protection Platoon")
