
The image above was sent to us from an Electronic Waste Recycling facility looking for someone to take 48 pallets of used printer cartridges sitting in their warehouse in Arkansas with no place to go.
Not too long ago, printer cartridge remanufacturers would have been competing to pick up 48 pallets of cartridges. Now e-waste recyclers struggle to find outlets that will take the material. This is because millions of imported single-use printer cartridges that can’t be remanufactured have flooded the U.S. market and devalued used printer cartridges altogether.
At one time 48 pallets of printer cartridges would have been worth tens of thousands of dollars, now these used plastic cartridges are considered trash and end up in our landfills by the millions.
This issue will only get worse if left unaddressed!
