Barge Spa URGENT CALL TO ACTION Hearing Reconvening July 28, 6pm Send comments!
Hello Petition supporters. As you may have heard, the Barge Spa 1905 Ogden Rezoning Hearing was postponed until Tuesday July 28 at 6pm, even though Meeting Chair Councillor Sarah Kirby-Yung tried to ram it through on the 21st, with a Motion to hear all 51 speakers after 10:30pm. Luckily a majority of Council wasn't interested in staying up all night!
We need more people from Vancouver to SUBMIT COMMENTS on Agenda Item 4. CD-1 Rezoning: 1905 Ogden Avenue to counteract the speakers from Victoria who have commented in favour because they like the one in Victoria, and other people commenting who just like the idea of the barge spa. We are not disputing that a spa experience of a sauna, hot pool and cold plunge with a great view isn't wonderful, just that this is not the place for it. You can keep it simple and just say you're opposed.
Click OPPOSE on the link, select CD-1 Rezoning 1905 Ogden on the drop down menu, add comments if you wish, select your neighbourhood and submit before 3pm Monday July 27 if possible.

At the moment the Rezoning is Item 4 on the Agenda. Item I has been heard already which makes the barge spa Item 3 on the 28th. This could mean it could be heard as late as midnight as there are 106 speakers on the first 2 items, or it could be moved up to earlier on the agenda, or even miraculously be postponed until after the election. In any case it's going to be a long night!
