From my general observations of the newly submitted documents, there appear to be no meaningful changes from the proposal the commission previously denied. The same major concerns remain:
- Over-Density: Still far above the previously recommended 5,500-unit cap.
- Urban Development in a Rural Area: Incompatible with the surrounding agricultural and low-density residential land.
- Phase 3 Problems: Still makes no planning sense for this location and pushes development where there is no urban infrastructure.
This means the same problems we fought before — traffic impacts, infrastructure strain, loss of rural character — are still on the table.

- Mark your calendar for August 25th, 7:00 PM at the FlaglerGovernmentServicesBuilding. (This may change to the new Bunnell building- we will share an update once we know)
- Speak up during public comment — even if you’ve spoken before, it’s important they hear from us again.
- Share this update with neighbors, friends, and on social media so we pack the room.
We stopped this project once because it was the wrong fit for Bunnell. Let’s make sure the City Commission knows that nothing has changed — and that our community still says NO to incompatible development.
