Thanks to all of you who shared your thoughts and made enough noise to bring attention to this issue! AL.com recently published an article (CLICK HERE) reporting that Sen. Melson has decided to amend his original bill proposal. Instead of making products like delta-8, delta-9, and delta-10 illegal, the amendment proposes an additional 6% tax on these products, on top of state and local sales tax.
While the fight over these products is far from over, this is a significant step in the right direction. I see this as a victory in this round of the battle. Like many of you, I support proper quality testing and ensuring these products are not accessible to minors. Although I'm not thrilled about the added 6% tax, I’m relieved that the amendment preserves the legality of these products.
Your voices made a difference. Thank you for your continued support, and let’s keep standing strong together!
