150 injured and 1 dead per year in Moorpark

Today was Global Traffic Violence Remembrance Day. 117 people die every day in the US from traffic crashes. Every single day. Every year in Moorpark, at least 1 family is told that their son, daughter, mother, or father was killed in a crash.

Nobody deserves this. Not a single person. We must demand safer streets. The construction on Princeton Avenue is an opportunity to do better. The city has not taken that opportunity... yet. Thank you for signing. 

The photo above is of a fatal crash near the intersection of Moorpark Rd and Tierra Rejada Rd. You can also find 2 memorials there for the 2 cyclists that have been killed.

You must wonder: why were cyclists even on that road if there isn't a bike lane? Do you see a bike lane in that picture? I don't. Oh, but there is one. That's a "class III bike route" which doesn't require any infrastructure except for a few tiny signs that say "bike route". Signs and paint don't work!
