This is unbelievable... An oil company facing criminal charges over a massive spill in Brazil has been given permission to begin exploration off the coast of Wellington. Chevron faces being held criminally responsible after 3500 barrels of oil spilled into Brazil waters in 2011. Despite this, it is one of 15 companies that have today been granted permits in the Government's new Block Offer.
