We are making a difference. Although no U turn by Wirral council last night, there were clear signs that your support is having an effect. In a council meeting that sadly was more of a primary school playground squabble than a mature, considered meeting of our elected officials, my son David was able to present your petition so far to the Mayor. The Mayor had graciously granted exceptional permission for this against the advice of council officials. Carers did not really expect a reversal of this awful policy yesterday as the council parties were in full tribal mode but the level of public support is starting to bite. During the many mentions of Girtrell Court, there were several indications that the council is becoming more prepared to listen to carers concerns and that some opportunities to influence may be made available. We now need to keep focus so that the elected officials and council officers know that the Wirral electorate care and are weighing their actions. Girtrell Court's fate will not be decided for sometime so please remember to make this an issue in the May election canvassing discussions. Our hand will be strengthened by your continued support so please keep with us and spread the word, you wonderful people
