I have had a twitter account since 2009 but only learned how to tweet yesterday! Here is a tweet from Mayor Kamil ........ " minister of environment/forestry, within its legal capacity, will review and give decision concerning Bandung Zoo situation early next week" "within legal capacity" You would think they have the capacity to revoke zoo's license to operate and shut it down! There is another earlier tweet by the Mayor saying that petition is unfair and he asked for petitions to be revised as zoo is privately owned (unable to do a cut and paste for everyone for you to read) Unfair, really? Is starving the animal/animal cruelty and not enforcing the law fair? I have tweeted the Mayor asking for his help to facilitate Bears release but did not get a response from him. We have a movement here, and our roar is getting louder by the minute. Please boycott Indonesia as your vacation destination. Thx for all your support. If anyone wants to tweet the Mayor please do so. Here is the tweet message: @ridwankamil Sanctuary in US wants to rescue bears but zoo has to release bears first. Please use your mayoral power to speak with Zoo officials to facilitate bears release. Thx! ps: saw a tweet from Erin Eliason offering to set up fund to help. Mayor Kamil tweeted back that money isnt the issue and that it is Ministry of Forestry slow to act. My question if money isn't the issue, 1) why did Scorpion begged for donation to feed the bears last year 2) why did the bears ate their feces 3) why 6mths later the bears are emaciated 4) why is not not an onsite vet at the zoo? WHY!!!!!
