Everyone,
Richard Cordray, who runs the federal student loan program, said on Wednesday that they are working on a change on how they oppose people in bankruptcy court. Getting the threat of bankruptcy back on our side is key to getting the loans ultimately cancelled. So this is very, very good news for us. But we have to push harder going forward:
- Will you please retweet this, and call out people close to Biden in the comments or as a quote-tweet?
- Will you please retweet this, and call out Republican governors and Senators similarly?
- Will you reach out to your local news stations and newspapers, and tell them to report on this, and also our petition?
We're getting very close, folks. I hope that you can understand why getting the threat of bankruptcy back is critical for getting any meaningful loan cancellation down the road, and why we've been fighting so hard for it. This puts us in the home stretch for getting this problem solved.
I hope you all can appreciate that it was us who successfully pushed Elizabeth Warren to bring bankruptcy into her campaign, and then successfully pushed Biden's campaign manager to endorse her bankruptcy plan. It was also us who have been pushing Biden for what we're seeing now since shortly after the election.
To everyone who helped...THANK YOU. We're starting to see the fruits of our efforts.
We have a huge muscle to flex now, but that only matters when you help us flex it! Please let's make this the strongest week ever.
