We wanted to continue thanking you for your enormous 'love in action' in supporting our petition. As of late, we have been informed that some clemency petitions have been denied by President Barack Obama; after review from The Pardon Attorney's Office. This is common. Edwin's Petition is still pending review in that Office.
Although, we have forwarded letters to President Barack Obama, Acting Pardon Attorney Robert A. Zauzmer, White House Counsel Neil Eggleston, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, among others; we have not received a response.
As a reminder, each one of us may forward a comment or message to The Pardon Attorney's Office e mail adress [ uspardon.attorney@usdoj.gov ] supporting our son.
Edwin wanted to share this:
Words can not express, nor an infinite multitude of thanks, for the solemn gratitute that I feel and have
witnessed from each one of you; the love, compassion, mercy, and support for my mother's petition urgent call for justice, in order for me to receive a second chance at life. I am indebted by your support. 'Thank
you'. "... when I entered federal prison in 1998, I had to make two (2) choices, either to succumb into the solitude of my hopeless present situation caused by my drug addiction and criminal behavior, or to make a positive change. I chose the latter.
My rehabilitation has been full of challenges and hard work in this type of environment. God is my witness. I continue making progress everyday, because my dream is to be released one day and re-enter society as a contributable asset. I made a lot mistakes; I sincerely admit that. But, I can not dwell in the past, because I can not bring it back and repair it, nor live it again. I press forward focusing in the future by making right correct choices in the present. At the beginning of my incarceration I was taught two (2) things: "Do the best that you can do, with what you got, where you are at" and " Discipline yourself to do the things you do not like to do, so you can have the discpline to do the things you love to do, when you do not want to do them". They have become part of my mottoes. Therefore, I continue moving forward, Knowing that everything I endeavor in is not in vain, because in the end it will produce positive results..."
I apologize for taking some of your time. We just wanted to make you aware that who you are supporting is truly genuine in his efforts. Again, Thank you for supporting my Mother's plea for mercy and clemency. Prayers Always. Rubis - Philippians 4:11-13
"Those who gaze too much upon the past, who think too much about what might have been, are running something of the same risk as the driver who keeps his eyes too much upon his rear-view mirror and is inattentive to the road ahead. Experience is a great teacher; it is the road we have been over. But the wrecks in the rear aren't the ones we are now trying to avoid. It is the curves ahead that count now. - Richard L. Evans.
May God Bless each one of You individually.
