A few months ago President Trump said he would reverse new laws encouraging what he called the "horror show" that is trophy hunting. We were excited by the news and declared victory on this petition. Sadly, we spoke too soon. The president has gone back on his word and is lifting the U.S. ban on importing elephant trophies. The importation of these "trophies" will now be considered "on a case-by-case basis," according to a March 1 document that was released, but not publicized, by the U.S. Department of the Interior. Please spread the word that elephants are once again under attack by trophy hunters — this time with a formal blessing from the Trump Administration.
