H.E. President Julius Maada Bio and the Sierra Leone government.

Where is the Environmental Impact Assessment that you promised would take place for your proposed development of a fish harbour at Black Johnson Beach?

You know the one that is required by the laws of Sierra Leone;


Environmental Protection Agency Act 2008 First schedule section 24

b) Substantial changes in farming or fishing practices (e.g. introduction of new crops, large scale mechanisation or use of chemicals in agriculture);


c) Exploitation of hydraulic resources (e.g. dams, drainage and irrigation projects, water basin development or water supply);


d) Infrastructure (e.g. roads, bridges, airports, harbours, transmission lines, pipeline or railways)


Did you forget or didn’t you know?


An application shall be accompanied by a description of the proposed project to be undertaken Environmental Protection Agency Act 2008 section 24 (2)


And the the Agency shall open the environmental impact assessment for public inspection and comments Environmental Protection Agency Act 2008 section 27 (2)


We demand to see the report and make our comments. 


It cannot be beyond H.E. President Julius Maada Bio and the Sierra Leone government to uphold the laws of the country and publish the report.
