This is a direct message from Luke; PLEASE email President Biden today and ask him to grant commutation to Luke and all others imprisoned for cannabis!

Every day for 13 years I've been dreaming of coming home, of being with my daughter, of starting a family, and rejoining my community. I'm a firm believer of 'everything happens for a reason' and the events and people in our lives have a purpose. My case and cannabis incarcerations in general have been getting a lot of coverage in the media lately; so much so that I've stopped posting every time an article is written because it would consume a majority of my posts (see recent articles in Forbes, Marijuana Moment, Reason mag, and others). Much of this recent interest is due to the hard work of Weldon Angelos and #MISSION[Green] as well as many other dedicated activists, teammates, and allies we work with.
I believe this exposure is long overdue. It is 2021!  Why are people like Parker Coleman, Edwin Rubis and Lance Gloor still languishing in prison for cannabis offenses when 36 states have medical cannabis laws, 15 states (and DC) have fully legalized marijuana and cannabis stocks are making millionaires on Wall Street? This is hypocrisy and inequity in their purest forms. What's it going to take to abolish this shameful double-standard? One where we license and celebrate the rich but imprison the poor for the same act.
The American people--republicans and democrats--demand an end to this; racial equity demands it; social justice demands it; and the freedom that so many of our ancestors have bled and died for will accept nothing less. Perhaps without suffering the hardship and injustices that we have, and a spotlight being placed on them, all these forces would never have coalesced. Everything happens for a reason.
So with all these stars aligning like never before I'm going to make a bold prediction, something I usually wouldn't do. I predict that within 12 months, I and the rest of my fellow cannabis prisoners will be free. Yes, I said it. But, I want more than freedom. Or more accurately I want complete freedom. I want our records expunged and our rights restored. Justice demands it! The American voters do not support prohibition by substantial margins, so why should we still have to suffer the collateral consequences of a felony conviction ( i.e. housing, employment, education and voting restrictions/discriminations) for an offense that does not have the consent of the governed? We shouldn't! So this is our unwavering position.
We're very close to realizing our goals but now is not the time to ease our efforts. Nearing the goal line, we must work even harder, donate time and resources, lobby our Senators and Representatives to pass the MORE Act, call upon President Biden and VP Harris to honor their campaign promises to release all cannabis offenders, and keep fighting until these unjust laws are abolished and every single cannabis prisoner is free.
