Maybe that's what the Park Hill School District board members are thinking ... And we do hope they are receiving a lot of community feedback about preserving the old and healthy forest around the Line Creek Trail.
But just in case you haven't sent your message yet because you're wondering if it will really make a difference, let me say: your voice counts.
The school district board members want to hear from you -- and time is running out before their vote this Thursday, May 10.
Your email could be the "one more" they receive that makes them consider an alternate master plan -- a plan that still meets the school district needs, but also permanently protects some of the oldest and healthiest parts of the forest from development.
It takes 5-10 minutes tops! Here is a sample email (you're welcome to modify or write your own), and the email addresses for the board members: https://www.lastkcforest.com/contact-the-park-hill-school-board
And yes, I'll send another reminder tomorrow. Sorry. But after that point, you won't hear from me again about this vote -- promise!
You can also read more about this forest by viewing the report we sent to the school district here: https://tinyurl.com/yaxzxu8y
Thank you for your support! And please know your voice is VERY important to helping protect what Mid America Regional Council called "some of the last original woodland forest within Kansas City in Platte County."
