You only have to ‘look into’ gay conversion therapy for all of ten seconds to realise it’s dangerous, harmful and should be banned. The title alone tells you that. Yet Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Michael McCormack who is acting Prime Minister while Turnbull is away, has just said he has no view “one way or another” on the practice. How can you not have a view on something that has been widely publicised, particularly within the last week, for being incredibly damaging, telling young LGBTQI people that they are not okay as they are and need to be ‘cured’? He casually said he “hasn’t really looked into it”. McCormack has said that he will though.
