Aquarium Mar del Plata (Argentina) anunció su 'cierre definitivo' a partir del próximo 31 de marzo, debido a que los propietarios no llegaron a un acuerdo sobre el alquiler del predio.
Aquarium pertenece al grupo empresarial Dolphin Discovery, empresa que días pasados anunció su quiebra. También son dueños de 24 parques marinos en paÍses como México, Jamaica, el Caribe, Estados Unidos e Italia.
La preocupación social es el destino de las 50 especies que Aquarium mantiene en cautiverio desde 1993.
Se repudia la decisión de la empresa, trasladar a los animales a otros zoológicos y acuarios del país y del extranjero. Esto es continuar con la cadena de explotación animal.
Por lo tanto, se tomaron las medidas pertinentes, solicitar un informe actualizado para conocer fehacientemente el número de individuos y su estado de salud, así como un requerimiento de control y posterior informe sobre el destino de los animales ante el organismo Fauna Provincia.
Por este motivo, el día 30 de marzo se realizará una movilización en las puertas del acuario a las 11 horas, para exigir responsabilidad ante la vida animal y sus derechos.

For this reason, a mobilization will take place on March 30th at 11 AM at the entrance of the aquarium to demand responsibility for animal life and their rights.
