Family statement ~ Findings have been handed down in the inquest of our son’s police shooting death !
The findings are the same as the inquest..FULL OF LIES…lies that the media are still continuing to report on.
The facts are these…
Luke was not committing any crime, he apologised for brushing past Murray, he was the one provoked and at the moment they fired a volley of bullets into a safe night precinct hitting cars and killing Luke, he was further away from them than he was at the start, he never threatened anyone and his arms remained down by his side as you can see on the footage we have previously shared.
The allegation that Constable Liam Forster had a prior relationship with Luke’s girlfriend who rejected him has NOT even been investigated nor the impact of Constable Bryce Collins crimes against our son 🚩
The coroner has based her findings on lies, erroneous and manipulated evidence, hearsay and without hearing all the facts of the case which she’s dismissed as irrelevant. We have been blindsided by the findings being handed down by email without prior warning or a court hearing while we are still waiting for a ruling to be made and the withheld evidence being released to us.
We have consistently said that a civil proceeding is not adequate when a person is killed by police and investigated by police and these findings prove that to be true…when they lie about the number of bullets in a police shooting death and fail to report who killed the deceased then everything else must be questioned including the sequence of events they know to be a lie because their claims are not supported by video evidence.
In the findings handed down this week it is said Constable Liam Forster fired 4 shots and Senior Constable David Murray fired 1 shot and that 5 shots were fired altogether but the coroner knows this not to be true yet she still writes it as fact. How can an inquest into a police shooting death not determine exactly who killed our son?
She also writes that Luke moved first and its then that the police pulled their guns out and moved backwards which is untrue and she knows it is untrue after our barrister at inquest pointed this out to her. Luke was stood still when they did this after he was provoked twice, asked what he had and showed them. This is on CCTV so there is no question about the validity of the sequence of events but they refuse to release this footage.
They also state his Milwaukee utility penknife is catagory M prohibited which is a lie, Milwaukee make tools, Luke is a tradie, it’s a tradie tool purchased from Tool Kit Depot legally and without the need for a permit.
We can pick apart the whole proceedings and we are now creating our own brief of evidence including the reports by the so called experts who have created a person that is not our son based on the small amount of information they were provided with by the coroner.
Luke has been failed, we have been failed, and the citizens of Queensland are being failed by not holding the police involved accountable. A finding of VPH (Victim Precipitated Homicide) is the worst case of victim blaming we have ever seen. We are vehemently disputing these findings, and we will be seeking legal advice…
Our petition for an independent inquiry needs be granted and if the Coroner, QPS, ESC, CCC has nothing to hide they should welcome this.
