Dear Supporter, Thank you for making our signature count reach 134k. I wanted to give you an update on the latest development on our petition. The parliament food management committee met last week to discuss the issue but they feel that removal of subsidy to the canteen is not required. In a country where millions sleep hungry every night our leaders feel subsidy is more important in parliament canteen. If they feel subsidy is so important why they don’t give to the one who really needs it. The guiding principle of any subsidy is to serve better the poorest of poor and in view of it, the present subsidy in parliament canteen in no way justified. There are millions in our country who need it more and if you want to continue giving it in your canteen please extend it to the citizens also. Every Indian has an equal right. I would be writing a mail to the parliament food Management committee requesting them to reconsider their decision and will also seek appointment from them to personally handover the petition to them and discuss the issue. My request to all of you is to get 1 signature each. With every signature & support adding to the petition our case will get stronger. Let’s ensure together we will make our government to hear our voice and not misuse our hard earned tax money we pay. I also request you to connect with me on twitter and share your feedback/suggestion. I am also sharing regular updates related to the petition on my twitter handle. My twitter handle is @punitag17.
