UPDATE SEPTEMBER 24, 2023:
THIS WAS MY PLEA TODAY. HAVE YOU SEEN ANDREW TODAY?
Andrew changed his routine yesterday. He walked only 5.3 km which is very low mileage for Andrew. He normally walks 25 km or more every day. Perhaps he liked the area. I know the people were very generous, as he was seen with groceries.
Andrew had three conversations yesterday. One was with a husband and wife at Lansdowne at Davenport around 3:30 p.m. Andrew was offered food but said he didn't need anything until later, as he was not hungry. He turned down a pair of sneakers but accepted a clothing item. This couple have met Andrew several times and have built up a rapport. Andrew recognizes them and is glad to see them and their two children.
The second conversation was with a lady who has searched for Andrew several times. She is the one who reported Andrew at the Pearson Airport going up the ramp on the highway. She decided to search for Andrew yesterday evening around 7:00 p.m. She located him at McDonald's Restaurant St. Clair and Keele where he was apprehended and taken to hospital a month ago. This is one of his favourite McDonald's locations. She offered Andrew money. He accepted the money and said, "Thank you very much ma'am."
The third encounter was with a man who has been following the posts. He met Andrew walking north front Dundas West. He spoke to him for thirty minutes. He got him some food and water but Andrew said, "No thank you." Andrew talked about 2017 when his grandmother died in July. He spoke about his anxiety and his family helping him. He was making sense. Andrew had his first sign of illness at work in October 2017. We are wondering now if his grandmother's death triggered Andrew's illness. The man phoned the Crisis Intervention Team but his cell died before they arrived. Andrew made eye contact only once. The man tried to offer the food and water again, but Andrew walked away. He was calmly speaking to himself.
We were shocked to hear Andrew speak about his grandmother. She was 99 years old when she died. They always had a special relationship and we did not realize that Andrew's grief was so deep.
Three conversations in one day has never happened before. Andrew seems to be grasping some sense of reality while still drifting into fantasy.
Many thanks to everyone who is sending posts, photos and videos with date, time and location. We are coping with the situation as best we can, thanks to your thoughtfulness and kindness.
I find this song gives me some comfort, I WON'T LET GO by Rascal Flatts. It talks about coping.

God can work MIRACLES. Jesus said, "There are some things that people cannot do, but God can do anything!" Matthew 19:26. Please pray for a MIRACLE to happen soon!
THE PLEASE BRING ANDREW BRYENTON HOME TO P.E.I. PETITION has 8182 signatures. These are Ontario and P.E.I. residents who believe that Andrew should be given a medical transfer back home to P.E.I., where he will be hospitalized by his psychiatrist.
SIGHTING TODAY SEPTEMBER 24, 2023:
3:45 p.m. Walking south on Islington and 401. Andrew gave us the slip today. There were many anxious moments until we received the first sighting mid afternoon.
Andrew walked 13 km today.
LAST SIGHTING SEPTEMBER 23, 2023:
10:22 p.m. Andrew was just getting off a park bench and started walking east along Dundas St. West. She saw someone offer Andrew water but he declined.
SEEKING A COMPASSIONATE PSYCHIATRIST
We are pleading for a compassionate psychiatrist that will assist our son, to get a medical transfer home to P.E.I. Please contact me directly if you are able to assist.
We believe that the Minister of Health, Sylvia Jones has a will to enforce the medical transfer provision, in the Ontario Mental Health Act. But first, we have to locate a psychiatrist who is willing to admit Andrew to hospital under a Form 1.
It is our belief that Andrew is exhausted, malnourished and sleep deprived. He may also have stomach and back issues. Andrew needs to be medically examined. There are many people who have experienced our heartache, turmoil and pain.
Andrew is still wearing his New England Patriots long sleeve brownish sweater, blue jeans and sneakers falling apart.
CATALYST FOR CHANGE
Andrew's heartbreaking story is reaching thousands of people daily. The very public daily postings are opening the eyes of people that never realized the plight of homeless people. Not only that, the daily struggles of loved ones who are trying to care for their loved one.
Andrew's story may be the catalyst necessary to finally challenge the existing mental health system moving forward with mental health reform. The homeless suffer daily for their basic needs that most people take for granted.
Here is a sad post that I received. "As someone who was supporting a family member with schizophrenia until his untimely passing, I spoke at length with the coroner, autopsy and police team who all felt that the system needs to change. While they support the rights of individuals to make their own health care choices, they also felt that the pendulum has swung too far. They want people to speak up. It is time for Andrew’s Law."
Pamela Sanderson plans to pull together a rally in front of legislative buildings across Canada to change the Mental Health Act. It is called TIME TO HEAL: UNITED THROUGH MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTION. There is no date set yet.

LOBBYING EFFORTS
I am lobbying for a P.E.I. Community Treatment Order. Dr. Richard O'Reilly, psychiatrist, from London, Ontario believes the New Brunswick Community Treatment Order is the best to both assist the mentally ill and clinicians. In his opinion, it is the gold star, modern standard and should be considered. Deputy Minister, Lisa Thibeau said that she would review it.
I sent this Community Treatment Order to Premier Dennis King, Hon. Mark McLane, Minister of Health, Deputy Minister Lisa Thibeau, MLA Susie Dillon, Dr. Javier Salabarria, Medical Director Mental Health & Addictions, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island.
In addition, I am working with MP Sean Casey and former Senator, Diane Griffon, on an Advanced Medical Directive.
