12 APR 18 - 2 NEW SANDLEFORD PLANNING APPLICATIONS - UPDATE

Julie KnapmanNewbury, ENG, United Kingdom
Apr 13, 2018
Dear all,
I hope this update finds you all well. We are facing 2 new Planning Applications regarding the proposed Sandleford development. The application number for the Planning Application including the Warren Road Access is 18/00828/OUTMAJ. I have included the update below from the Say No to Sandleford Group (SNTS) for further information regarding the 2 Planning Applications and also how to access them using the West Berkshire Planning link. The Wash Common Action Group will again oppose the Warren Road Access. We intend to get together some valid objection points in the near future once we have read everything, that can be used if you would like to, in an objection letter to West Berkshire Council - I will let you know where these objection points will be displayed and they can be cut and paste into your email as you see fit. EVERY objection letter sent is crucial, from ALL the adults in your household/local family, as the number of objectors speak a thousand words. Please remember that all objections need to be measurable and factual and I would include both Planning Application numbers in the title so your objection letter is registered on both applications. They will not consider objection letters involving emotions, just statistics/facts. However, luckily for us there are plenty of these to suggest that the Warren Road access should no longer be considered. Thank you for your support so far.
Best wishes, Julie

SAY NO TO SANDLEFORD UPDATE:
12th April 2018 - New planning Applications and Data Protection Update
Bloor Homes and Donnington New Homes have both submitted new planning applications for their respective patches of their Sandleford site, but appear to have brokered a "peace deal" to work together, as several documents have been submitted in common. More below.
And the Campaign needs some data protection updates to cover the new GDPR regulations.
Data Protection Update
The New GDPR regulations means that we have to explicitly ask you to confirm that you want to remain on this mailing list. We need replies by 25th May - after that time anyone who has not replied will be removed from the newsletter list.
So please can you send an email reply to this newsletter telling us you want to be kept informed. The replies come to a central campaign mailbox and we can update your records from there.
For your information the data we hold on you is: email address, name (where known) and codes for how you are involved in the campaign.
We also have addresses for anyone who signed up to support our group response to earlier planning applications - we needed the addresses to demonstrate that these submissions were on behalf of local residents. Emails can be sent to: tonyhammond@waitrose.com
Thanks - Tony Hammond - mailing list\newsletter editor
Now back to planning:
There are two new applications that were put on the planning web portal on Tuesday:
18/00764/OUTMAJ from Bloor Homes for up to 1,000 homes and associated primary school and centre, 2 access roads onto Monks Lane
18/00828/OUTMAJ from Donnington New Homes for 500 homes, a care home and primary school, widening of Warren Road for access.
The applications also contain a "Memorandum of Understanding" between the two developers and there are several masterplanning documents that appears to have been submitted jointly.
To find the applications on-line, go to:
https://publicaccess.westberks.gov.uk/online-applications/search.do?action=simple&searchType=Application
Then search on the application number in the "keyword, reference number.." box.
(This gives you the Planning Application as a whole. Click on the tab "Documents" and then again on the "view associated documents" to see the documents that have been received in regarding the planning application. Click on an individual document in the list on the left hand side of the screen to read its content.)
We will send out updates as we wade through the documentation highlighting issues.
A couple of things emerging from an initial look at the documents:
1. Warren road - the implication is that widening Warren Road is a two stage plan. Using an existing application to cover the first 150 homes and a second application for full widening to cover the rest;
2. The implication that Warren Road will ultimately be fully connected to the main access road across the Bloor site, with all the implications for which "access road" will become the main one.
3. A plan to create some kind of cycle\pedestrain path along the east side of the Andover Road between Warren Road and Monk's Lane. This is a new feature.
