Cain Velasquez, 

My heart breaks for you and your young relative. As soon as I saw the news I knew I had to write you a letter extending to you my support and encouragement. I want you to know that the pain and anger will always be with you, but life will get better and there is always a way forward. 

Six years ago I was in a similar situation to the one you are in now. Out of rage, I pulled a gun on a child molester. I soon found myself locked in county jail with 3 felony charges, facing a decade in prison, while the real predator continues to walk free until this very day. Despite a massive amount of evidence and testimony proving his abuse.

We did the right thing Cain, it's the system that is wrong and corrupt to its core. Our ancestors were not denied justice like we are today, they went and seized it for themselves. A great warrior like you should never be denied that right. 

So when people call you unhinged, tell you that you are mentally ill, and demonize you. Remember that it's these sickos and their enablers that are mentally ill. And the broken system is really there to protect them from what they truly deserve, which is retribution bred from the righteous anger of men like you and I.

We must fight this war with subterfuge and deception, because the whole system is built on lies right now and those that exploit children are protected at the highest levels. Your prosecutor and many others would much rather throw the book at you then hold child molesters accountable. 

The fact that he was walking around as a free man after what he did, while you sit in a cell without bail is unconscionable. 

I hope you stay in the fight to hold child molesters accountable. I will be supporting you in every way I can and will be following your case very closely.

I am a huge fan of yours, even more so after learning about how you handled this situation. I believe you will weather this storm and will be walking free soon.

I have channeled my own anger and fight against a child molester into training MMA and stepping into the ring at the StreetBeefs Scrapyard here in the Pacific Northwest. I hope you check it out on Youtube one day when things settle down for you and I will most certainly be shouting out "Free Cain" before my next fight. 

I am sure there is a lot you are dealing with right now, if you read this letter I hope it gives you the support, encouragement, and strength to keep up the good fight.
