Philadelphia Councilman David Oh, chair of Council's Committee on Global Opportunities and the Creative/Innovative Economy, will be introducing a budget amendment on Tuesday, June 8. If passed, the amendment would restore funding to pre-pandemic levels for the Office of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy (OACCE), as well at the Philadelphia Cultural Fund and the Greater Philadelphia Film Office. The amendment is also proposing to created a $45 million creative arts recovery fund. This would all be possible because of the city's $1.4 billion federal recovery stimulus. The amendment also reallocates money towards "livable communities" investments in affordable housing, public space improvements, and small business development.

The hearing is at 10 a.m. and can be viewed online. http://phlcouncil.com/watch-city-council/
