The headlines have moved on. New wars. New political dramas. New things to argue about. But Gaza never got the chance to move on.

Children are still falling asleep hungry. Parents are still pretending they aren't hungry so their children can eat the little that's left. Mothers are still making impossible choices. Fathers are still digging through rubble with their bare hands. There are children in Gaza who have never known a day without fear, without displacement, without the sound of drones overhead.

The world talks about ceasefires. But what kind of ceasefire still leaves children starving? What kind of peace allows parents to bury babies weakened by hunger? What kind of humanity watches famine unfold on phone screens and calls it "complicated"?

Britain recognising Palestine may be historic. But recognition doesn't stop a starving child from crying through the night. It doesn't restock empty hospital shelves. It doesn't bring back the little girl who died waiting for medicine. It doesn't comfort the boy who no longer has a home to return to.

Even the Freedom Flotilla, carrying hope, solidarity, and desperately needed aid, faced interception and obstruction. People crossed oceans because they couldn't bear to do nothing while Gaza suffered. Because sometimes humanity means refusing to look away.

And yet Gaza remains waiting.

Waiting for food.
Waiting for safety.
Waiting for the world to remember that Palestinian children are children too.
