Thank you, to each and every one of you, who has taken the time to write. Public safety, especially pedestrian safety and protecting our youngest residents, is one of my highest priorities, and I will support any effort to improve this citywide.

The HAWK beacon was installed in early 2020, prior to my election to the City Council. At the time, neighborhood residents opposed a full traffic signal, so the HAWK beacon was offered as a compromise.

I support anything that will improve safety as I believe children, parents, and neighborhood residents should be prioritized in our city planning process. As a follow-up, I will bring this item up during our upcoming priority setting and budgeting process. I will also ask staff to reach out to petition leaders regarding the process for requesting further traffic calming measures.
